Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

1. General Information

Insight: Journal of Education is an open-access, double-blind peer-reviewed journal that publishes high-quality original research articles, review articles, and theoretical papers in the field of education.

The journal welcomes manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of educational theory, research, and practice across all levels and contexts of education.

2. Types of Manuscripts Accepted

The journal accepts the following types of manuscripts:

  • Original Research Articles
  • Review Articles (Systematic Reviews, Literature Reviews, and Meta-Analyses)
  • Theoretical or Conceptual Papers

3. Manuscript Preparation

Authors must prepare manuscripts according to the journal template and the following requirements:

4. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should be organized as follows:

  1. Title
  2. Author Information
  3. Abstract (150–250 words)
  4. Keywords (3–5 keywords)
  5. Introduction
  6. Method
  7. Results and Discussion
  8. Conclusion
  9. Acknowledgements (optional)
  10. References

5. Title and Author Information

  • The title should be concise and informative.
  • Include the full names of all authors.
  • Provide institutional affiliations and country.
  • Indicate the corresponding author and email address.

6. Abstract and Keywords

  • Abstract length: 150–250 words.
  • Keywords: 3–5 terms separated by semicolons.
  • The abstract should summarize the purpose, method, findings, and contribution of the study.

7. References

  • All references must follow APA 7th Edition.
  • Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as Zotero or Mendeley.
  • At least 80% of references should be published within the last ten years.
  • Include DOI whenever available.

8. Tables and Figures

  • Tables and figures must be clearly labeled and numbered consecutively.
  • Use APA 7th Edition formatting.
  • Each table and figure should be cited in the text.

9. Submission Process

Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system (OJS).

Before submission, authors should ensure that:

  • The manuscript conforms to the journal template.
  • All identifying information has been removed for double-blind review.
  • References are complete and correctly formatted.
  • The manuscript has not been published previously and is not under consideration elsewhere.

10. Peer Review Process

All submissions undergo an initial editorial screening followed by a double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers.

11. Publication Ethics

The journal follows the ethical guidelines established by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics). Authors must ensure originality and avoid plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, and duplicate submission.

12. Plagiarism Screening

All manuscripts are screened using Turnitin or similar plagiarism detection software before peer review.

13. Article Processing Charge (APC)

Insight: Journal of Education charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) of IDR 200,000 for accepted manuscripts.

  • No submission fee is charged.
  • Payment is required only after the manuscript has been accepted for publication.

14. Copyright and License

Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication.

All articles are published under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
