Insight: Journal of Education is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics and research integrity.

The journal follows recognized principles of scholarly publishing and draws on the guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher are expected to uphold academic integrity throughout the publication process.

1. Principles of Research Integrity

The journal does not tolerate:

  • plagiarism;

  • fabrication;

  • falsification;

  • duplicate publication;

  • redundant publication;

  • inappropriate authorship;

  • citation manipulation;

  • peer-review manipulation;

  • undisclosed conflicts of interest;

  • other forms of academic misconduct.

2. Responsibilities of Authors

Authors must:

  • submit original work;

  • ensure that the manuscript has not been published elsewhere;

  • ensure that the manuscript is not simultaneously under consideration by another journal;

  • accurately report research findings;

  • provide sufficient methodological information;

  • properly acknowledge sources;

  • obtain appropriate ethical approval where required;

  • disclose relevant funding;

  • disclose conflicts of interest;

  • cooperate with editorial investigations;

  • correct errors discovered after publication.

All listed authors must have made a meaningful contribution to the research and approved the final manuscript.

3. Authorship

Authorship should reflect substantial contributions to the research and manuscript.

Individuals who do not meet authorship criteria but provided assistance may be acknowledged where appropriate.

The corresponding author is responsible for confirming that:

  • all listed authors have approved the manuscript;

  • all authors agree with the submission;

  • author order has been approved by all authors.

Changes to authorship after submission require a clear justification and approval from all affected authors.

4. Plagiarism

The journal uses plagiarism-detection tools such as Turnitin or equivalent software.

Similarity scores are evaluated contextually.

A high similarity score does not automatically constitute plagiarism, while plagiarism may occur even when the overall similarity score is relatively low.

Manuscripts containing substantial unattributed textual or intellectual overlap may be rejected or subjected to further investigation.

5. Fabrication and Falsification

Fabrication refers to inventing data or research results.

Falsification refers to manipulating research materials, procedures, data, or results in a manner that misrepresents the research.

Both practices constitute serious research misconduct.

6. Duplicate and Redundant Publication

Authors must not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to multiple journals.

Authors should disclose substantially related publications or manuscripts that could create concerns about duplicate or redundant publication.

7. Citation Integrity

Authors should cite relevant scholarly sources accurately and appropriately.

The journal does not permit:

  • excessive self-citation intended to manipulate citation metrics;

  • coercive citation;

  • irrelevant citation;

  • citation stacking intended to artificially increase journal or author metrics.

8. Conflicts of Interest

Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose conflicts of interest that could influence or appear to influence the research or editorial process.

Conflicts may include financial, professional, institutional, or personal relationships.

9. Ethical Treatment of Research Participants

Research involving human participants must comply with applicable ethical principles.

Where required, authors should report:

  • ethics committee approval;

  • approval number;

  • informed consent;

  • confidentiality procedures;

  • participant protection procedures.

Authors must not disclose personally identifiable information without appropriate consent.

10. Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI

AI tools may assist authors with limited activities such as language editing or formatting.

AI tools cannot be listed as authors because they cannot take responsibility for the integrity of the research.

Authors remain responsible for:

  • accuracy;

  • originality;

  • citations;

  • interpretation;

  • research integrity;

  • protection of confidential information.

Substantive use of generative AI should be disclosed appropriately.

AI-generated references and factual claims must be independently verified by the authors.

11. Responsibilities of Editors

Editors must:

  • evaluate manuscripts objectively;

  • maintain confidentiality;

  • avoid conflicts of interest;

  • ensure appropriate peer review;

  • protect the integrity of the publication process;

  • investigate suspected misconduct;

  • correct published errors when necessary;

  • ensure that editorial decisions are based on scholarly merit.

Editors must not use unpublished information from submitted manuscripts for personal research or advantage.

12. Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers must:

  • maintain confidentiality;

  • provide objective and constructive evaluations;

  • identify relevant concerns;

  • disclose conflicts of interest;

  • avoid inappropriate use of unpublished information;

  • report suspected ethical misconduct to the editor.

13. Corrections and Retractions

The journal may publish:

  • corrections;

  • retractions;

  • expressions of concern;

when necessary to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record.

Retraction may be considered in cases involving serious errors, fabricated or falsified data, plagiarism, duplicate publication, or other forms of substantial misconduct.

14. Complaints and Allegations of Misconduct

Complaints concerning publication ethics or research integrity should be directed to the journal's editorial team.

The journal will assess allegations fairly and confidentially and may request supporting evidence from relevant parties.

Appropriate action will be taken based on the seriousness and evidence of the allegation.
