Before submit your article, please make sure you have:
- Read the Ethics and Malpractice Statement
- Understand the Editorial Procedures and Peer-Review Process
- Read the Licensing & Copyright Terms
- Read the Article Processing Charge
- Conform your manuscript with the Discourse article template.
General Manuscript Submission Guidelines
- Authors are requested to submit the article electronically using the online submission system. This site will guide authors through the five-step submission process. Submissions that do not adhere to this procedure WILL NOT be considered for the review process.
- All authors involved in the writing of the article should be included in the submission metadata from the beginning. We will not accept the addition of authors included after the review process has commenced.
- Authors are required to submit two documents: i. the main file, an anonymized manuscript without author(s)' details but with title, abstract, keywords, full article, and bibliographic references, and ii. a full manuscript with authors' details indicating the article title, author(s)' full name (in the form preferred for publication), affiliation (including institutional and email address), and acknowledgment if necessary.
- Authors should conform to the requirements of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (7th Edition) if they want their manuscripts to be considered for publication.
- Manuscripts will be assessed for language accuracy. Thorough editing and proofreading are necessary before submission to ensure the high language quality of the manuscripts in compliance with standard academic English.
- All papers submitted to DJMS go through an internal review. If they meet the basic requirements, they are sent out for double-blind review by at least two experts in the fields relevant to the paper content. Comments from the external reviewers are sent to the authors and they are notified of the journal's decision (accept, accept with revisions, reject). This entire peer-reviewed process will take anywhere between 4 - 6 months after the submission of the article. The editor's decision is final.
- We do not encourage multiple submissions. A published author is required to wait at least TWO issues before the publication of another article. The rule remains in the case of co-authorship.
- There is a charge for article processing, only after the article has been accepted for publication. The processing fee is IDR 200,000 (Indonesian Rupiah: Seven Hundred Fifty Thousand Rupiah) for Indonesian and USD 15 for international author(s). Authors will have to make the payment before the paper is published.
DJMS Technical Guidelines
- Authors are required to use the style template (Style Sheet Template) and format the manuscript accordingly before submission.
- All manuscripts must be typed in Microsoft Word and single-spaced. Margins are to be set at Normal (2.54cm all round) and paper size at A4 (21 x 29.7cm).
- Submissions should not be less than 5000 words and not more than 7000 words (excluding abstract, references, author/s biodata and appendix).
- The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- Each manuscript must have an abstract (not exceeding 200 words) and 5 key words. Manuscripts that do not adhere to this will not be considered for review.
- Authors are encouraged to include hypermedia links within their article and ensure these are ready to use.
